A Changing Perspective

I wonder every now and then
How the world looked way back when
I was but a lad, with more, and less, hair
And the sunshine shone a little more fair
The days were simple, the nights long
My parents were never wrong
The trees were taller, the excitement huge
I'd jump at the chance to play the stooge
Problems were easier, holidays vast
Yet locked e'er in the distancing past
Now years older, wiser of years
Now I have shed my fair share of tears
Now I know you must get up and go
As long as you're on a journey you'll make it home
