A Love Poem for my College Wife

Written: 15/12/2006

In the darkening light of Durham City
I see you standing there looking so pretty;
Your radiant brown hair, long and straight
Your deep turquoise eyes glistening in the fading light;

The moon rises, shining above us bright
Hanging up there this cold autumn night;
I see the Great Bear looking down on you
Callisto admiring your beauty anew;

Your soft complexion glows in front of me
And for this I am compelled to plea:
Susan Proud, will you marry me?
