April Showers

Written: 26/04/2012

The rain has stopped colliding with the glass
Though its marks still are plainly seen
Droplets, every now and then, run on past
Not all bad since my car will now be clean

Still the walk to the car is not appealing
And my pipe-dream of a sunny journey home is lost
Which is made all the worse when I recall
Today is "not such as one for a raincoat"

Outside I am greeted by the English weather
However not much can be said in complaint
Since the downpour has not rekindled
But remnants, a mildly inconvenient sprinkle
