Are We Home?

Written: 25/12/2012

Is home ahead or is it behind
Or is it a place inside your mind?
An anchor perhaps to which we moor
Of memories that we adore
A lighthouse for lost ships in need of port
A torch in the darkness to guide our thoughts;

Shelter so welcoming with familiar feel
From friendly touch to fervent life conceal
-ed within its walls, hidden in its frame
As a fingerprint no two the same;
A nook, a hole, to which we return
When ourselves, waning, become a concern

'Tis much more than bricks and mortar
As life exceeds breath, bread, and water
Yet wherever your home may be found
May you also find level ground
A steady hand, a comforting voice
And know it is your sacred choice

To return home
