Benediction

Written: 20/05/2013

I have been young, now I am old
I have walked paths long & far
There are stories to be told
Of my journeys among the stars

Come follow me in the words I tell
Like a trickling stream grows
Captivated, for I cast a spell
Its end only the river knows

If my hour was near, my breath close
These words my very last
I would speak what matters most
Not boast of my fleeting past

This passions new, made my mother smile
Yet I cannot always be there
Close your eyes and hum a while
To let go these momentary cares

For the ones I used to know
And the ones that are now gone
It seems we all, I miss you so,
Have much going on
