Harbour lights from a wooden jetty

Written: 07/04/2012

Fisherman's boat batter with worn sail
Set beside the weathered pier becoming evermore frail
Last light of the westering sun streaks high
Last circles of seagulls filled with hungry cry

Jetty lights flitter then come on strong
In splendour surpassed by the harbours' before long
Strings of coloured globes stretch across the quay
Strings of people from their days of work do flee

Rays hit the waters and in unison prance
Fireflies of the sea cast upon onlookers a trance
Lost in the subtly of motions and rest
Lost in the inked stained sea and celestial contest
