I Wish I Were... (Part II)

Written: 23/03/2011

I wish I were a giant snail
I would smoke a cigar and depart on a whale

I wish I were a golden eagle
I would quote Shakespeare and ponce like a regal

I wish I were a slippery snake
I would steal a Van Gough and sell it as a fake

I wish I were a jellyfish
I would hide in a lamp and grant you a wish

I wish I were a sneaky fox
I would sing you a song and give you my socks

I wish I were an octopus
I would roar really load and run away like a wuss

I wish I were a koala bear
I would pick pretty poppies and put them in your hair

I wish I were a tiny lizard
I would ride a large horse and cast spells like a wizard

I wish I were a chimpanzee
I would build you a bridge and not charge a fee

I wish I were a bill goat-gruff
I would say "it's okay" but remain in a huff

I wish I were a mighty cockerel
I would put on some trunks and swim in your pool

I wish I were a muddy rhino
I would eat cucumber sandwiches and shout tally-ho!

I wish I were a Cornish cow
I would keep you up late asking when, why and how?

I wish I were a kangaroo
I would hide behind a door and jump you shout boo!
