Musing of Mortality

Written: 16/05/2011

Suppose, what are we
To think ourselves gods?
Stand on the Earth's shoulders
And declare our sovereignty

Proclaim victory
By these mortal hands
Laugh [at] God in the face
What else was to happen?

Look! Come and behold
Now we have become death
The destroyers of the world
The antithesis of our nature

And then what!
Beg for undeserved mercy
As our rightful inheritance
Bemused when refused

Weep for yourself
Redemption is unreachable
Beyond our means
Payment unpayable

Repent and listen
To the exposition of the King
Turn from your old ways
And gain forgiveness of sins
