Recompense

Written: 22/10/2014

What recompense should be given to a man who's so blasé
A heart which does not feel anguish or ecstasy this or that way
And knows only too well the correct motions
But needs a spirit reborn found in no known potions

What fate does lie, hiding beyond this earthly horizon
In a place where no sunlight ever will or has shone
Unattainable to glimpse for those with the keenest eye
Yet in mystery is never more than just nearby

What love this is, vast beyond measure
Precious beyond any earthly treasure
Who deserve it least but need it most
But given freely so that none may boast
