Sheep and Wolves

Retrace those long forgotten steps
Stride forth from here into dark depths
Set yourself upon lofty thoughts
Seek the King within His mighty courts
Cry privy and pry about the heath
Find the wicked with their gleaming teeth
Watch them gnaw, and whine, and moan
Slowly cold and hearts turn to stone
Flee these wayward in good time
Drink instead the cup of purest wine
E'er before you succumb yourself
Store up treasure where ruin cannot overcome your wealth
Live as sheep amidst wolves
Innocent and wise about fools
In your heart remain pure
For in God's love and forgiveness abides the cure
