The Dancing Girl

Written: 01/05/2011

Dancing girl dancing girl let the scoffers mock
Dancing girl dancing girl just don't ever stop

Gracefully she spins upon a silver pinhead
Pirouetting, weaving as delicately woven thread

Her art is a tapestry, slowly does it build
With each fluid motion another aspect revealed

Ebbing, flowing, with the rises and the falls
Dancing girl dancing girl softly does she call

Over ridges, mountains, with slightly redden cheeks
Through the fields and lilies for it's freedom that she seeks

Bouncing on the treetops, canopies way up high
In the woodland shade with trees passing by

With flowers on her skirt and flowers in her hair
Dancing girl dancing girl she moves without a care

With glee in her eyes, a smile on her face
She flutters like a butterfly in every kind of place

Dancing girl dancing girl she's as happy as can be
Dancing girl dancing girl she'll always dance for me
