The Dark of the Day

Written: 08/02/2011

Immortal sun in his heavenly home,
Ceded to death off of his throne.
Amid the jewellery of the deluminating sky,
Desolate Earth woefully does she lie.
Night time comes with morning light,
So far behind it does not seem so bright.

For ages to come and ages gone,
Darkness forgets what glory shone.
Beckons you to join its dance,
Like folly a fool in blindness prance.
And call upon false saviour and see,
That the moon is rising and shall ever be.

Welcome to the dark of the day,
Hope the fullness of shade will soon pass away.
Riding moon to downward and fall,
Pray the dawning moment overcomes all.
That stars may fade in quickening might,
In brilliance of the Fire blazing bright.

But the here and now draws us back,
The chill of the night seems to attack.
So rise you men and take a stand,
Reclaim the long forsaken land.
The thistles and thorns loosen their grip,
Certain is their demise like a sinking ship.

Night-crawlers retreat to hidden forts,
Their rule is over it moves to other sorts.
Resurrected our sun in grandeur display,
Darkness fleeting turned to disarray.
New hope springs to life up from the East,
Complete is our fasting prepare us the feast.
