The Heartbeat of the Mob

Written: 21/12/2011

It's the heartbeat of the mob
Rage swells and begins to throb
Swiftly violence overcasts the mood
Disdain bubbles and hatred broods

All but a few have forgot the cause
Love is lost on ignorant shores
Peace left to die in a lonely nook
Revenge casts a heinous look

Escalating out of sensible proportion
Sparks ignite and into the wind throw caution
Amassing group forms a beast of a kind
Of it rears an insane collective mind

Like a finger on a trigger waiting to pull
Abiding its time for its strength to be full
With a single swing the dam breaks
Innocence cowers and righteousness quakes
