The Numbers Mean Nothing

Carefully did he stack,
those pieces white and black
Atop of one another,
until the table he did cover
Ever up & higher,
his handiwork admire
A castle of many tiles,
which brought him many smiles

With one precise flick,
down went the first brick
Toppling yet another,
they fell in great number
Even the mighty tower,
destruction did devour
Until it was no more,
a ruin of what was before
