The Ocean's Call

Written: 07/02/2012

The Ocean tempts for a sole sailor
To weigh anchor upon her open seas
Waves drum and the gulls sing the march
Of a man who does as he please

By day the blue calls out in the waves
Rolling and the sea breeze coursing
By night the moon rides alongside stars
Which tell tales of old and legends past

Lonesome isles sit lost out in the void
Forsaken by friends and mother
As vapour fingers upward form mist
Song silences with the coming of her lover

From slumber woken wrath, Poseiden's fury
Escape as his voice widens jealous
Raging against those enchanted, captivated
Eyes ever on the distant horizon

Quickly now, set sail with the winds
For the paradise beyond the mirage
And pray that your adventurous heart
Does not become the instrument to your sabotage
