The Tools of a Man

Are they the same, the sword and the pen?
Both the product of intelligent men
Outer and inner an extension of the self
To bring power, glory, honour and wealth
Both a reflection of ones soul
A means to obtain their own goal
Both are dangerous if in vain hands
That create disaster across the lands
But if given to those humble in spirit
The virtues which are born are without limit
Hear the poor, for whose own sake cannot fend
Arise, oh righteous, to stand and defend
