What Became of the Wolf?

Written: 25/11/2011

The lone wolf so desperate to eat
That she continued to bite at the bison's feet
Her pack departed over this lost cause
Her body riddled with blood, cuts, & sores
This fray persists and deadlock is met
Can she endure this self-made life or death bet?
Crimson drenched snow from her bloodied coat
Encircles the pair as a sadistic moat
As the beast topples she knows this day is won
But the true struggle has only just begun
She settles down to enjoy this deservéd feast
To regain herself to face winter, the endless beast
