What do I know of burning righteousness?
What do I know of fervent holiness?
Just a man, a poor & weak man
Undone by perfect justice

What do I know of complete forgiveness?
What do I know of unending mercy?
By cover a godly, goodly man
Yet stricken by sins sickness

What do I know of consuming compassion?
What do I know of divine charity?
A man bound up in unremitting pride
Whose failing heart, to see, ashen

What do I know of amazing grace?
What do I know of unfailing love?
You look upon this man who did You wrong
Yet erase every wrong doing with trace
