Wine Shared With Friends

Written: 19/12/2011

The beauty of wine shared with friends
Alas we are at this eve's end
Shutting the door after we've said our goodbyes
Rubbing sleep out of tired eyes
From the corner as the conversation moves along
Soft strumming and the occasional song
Laughter from the jokes, their worth outlasts
We retire to the lounge and pour out another glass
Our hearts joyous and our stomachs full
Clinks of glass and a cork awaiting its masters' pull
Dinners' enticing smell wafts across the room
Its silent call to say it's ready for us to consume
We sit and chat about our days at work
Witty quips coax out a cheery smirk
A knock from our guests' arrival to spend
The beauty of wine shared with friends
