Winter Solstice

Written: 07/01/2014

Winter Solstice has come
A changing point of the year
Now the days grow no longer shorter

The dark has descended
The cold finally set in
And the days grow no longer shorter

Autumn's touch is softer
In the tree, of yet, still seen
And the days grow no longer shorter

The Sun he rises late
His path dutifully rearing steeper
And the days grow no longer shorter

Snow's kiss still to come
Frost's tricks are ever wiser
Hands warmed by fire and rum
And the days grow no longer shorter
